No-exam life insurance

Which candidates qualify, the path carriers follow, and when medical evaluation can't be skipped.

Multiple companies now offer quick underwriting: at specific age and benefit limits, they approve without a medical exam, using what you tell them, your drug history, driving record and public data. Some green-light in single-digit hours. Your quotes state whether each carrier needs an exam.

What it changes

Skipping the physical doesn't skip underwriting—answers still get fact-checked. A plan purchased with untrue information can be questioned in the first 24 months. If something in their investigation raises a flag, they'll ask for testing; you pick whether it's worth it.

Who tends to qualify

Typically, applicants younger than approximately 60, wanting coverage under the carrier's quick-decision ceiling, without a record of major illness and without tobacco consumption (12+ months), qualify. Old bloodwork from a routine checkup may be used instead of a fresh physical.

When an examination is needed, a nurse visits your home or workplace in the Bell region for roughly 30 minutes at no charge. For those in excellent health, passing results might get you a better rate, so testing can be helpful.
